In fact, a growing number of studies show a correlation between early experiences in early achievement skills, attention skills, and STEM/STEAM subjects - and later success in those subjects or in school, generally.¹ Puzzles are fun, educational toys that challenge young minds, teaching and preparing them early in life with some very important STEAM skills.
Puzzles are highly important learning tools for toddlers and young children, challenging young minds, teaching and preparing them early in life with numerous and very important STEAM skills including:
Cognitive Skills: Puzzles with a variety of themes and topics increase a child’s visual and spatial awareness, helping develop a deeper understanding of these themes and topics. All children learn differently, and puzzles may be their medium for grasping an understanding of certain themes, such as alphabet letters.
Problem-Solving Skills: Completing a puzzle engages children to think and develop strategies on how to achieving a completion goal. This goal involves problem-solving, reasoning, and developing solutions which are necessary throughout life.
Fine Motor Development: Puzzles are a fun way for children to develop and refine their fine motor skills. Hand-Eye Coordination: Playing with puzzles requires a trial-and-error process which involves a lot of hand and eye manipulation. As a toddler or child places a piece of the puzzle that does not fit, they will try all over again until they find the proper placement for the puzzle piece.
Social Skills: Puzzles are a great educational tool to enhance and promote cooperative play. As kids work together to complete a puzzle, they will discover where a piece should go and why, take turns and share and support each other when handling frustration, then sharing the joy of finishing the puzzle.
Self-Esteem: The accomplishment of achieving a goal brings much satisfaction to a child. Overcoming the challenges involved in solving a puzzle really gives them a sense of achievement and pride within themselves. He has been able to answer my questions and concerns quickly, and helped in securing the order that I may have made with another supplier had be not been the value-add that he is to your company. I hope his merit raise this FY was "exceeds expectations".
Jesse C...I contacted Geyer via email. I had an email back within minutes!.. A back and forth via email sometimes takes days with other companies and customer service doesn’t happen like this very often. When it does, it’s much appreciated. Brett at Geyer was very polite and accommodating!
John C.The customer service rep went as far as to reach out to the manufacturer of a product to answer my question, and then provided pictures. She really went above and beyond and answered the question thoroughly and gave me exactly the information I was looking for. This entire process was also extremely fast.
Robert C.I called to ask how to submit a Tax Exempt Certificate for my library and spoke to a real person, no automation or asking me to press a number. He was friendly, helpful and got our Tax Exempt status established immediately.
Mischelle F....I don't think I've ever experienced that level of customer service before, and taking it into consideration along with the quality of their products, I would absolutely recommend Geyer to fellow teachers.
