It started with a stamp.
In 1960 a math teacher in Northeast Indiana had an idea. He
had designed a simple rubber stamp with a graphing grid and he thought other
teachers might find it useful as well.
In the days long before the internet and ecommerce, Fred
Geyer, our Founder and Namesake, made the decision to take a chance. He made
his stamps and went about the task of selling them. Little did he know the
lifelong journey his idea had sparked.
As his useful tool sold and he built relationships, he began
developing and offering more products that were needed in the classroom. Year
in and year out he listened to his customers and continued to grow the company.
For over 50 years Fred Geyer’s inspiration has provided essential math and
science educational products to teachers in every state in the US, all across
Canada and to International Schools worldwide.
With sadness we marked the passing of Fred Geyer in 2011.
His creativeness and vision will be missed by all. We are determined to assure
that the company he built will always reflect his commitment to supporting
passionate teachers in their pursuit of educational excellence.
It is our pleasure to present to you the new Geyer
Instructional Products website and catalog. There are dozens of new products as
we continue to seek out the finest offerings for our customers. Fred could
have never known how technology would change his business!
We continue to offer the great products teachers
have come to expect from Geyer Instructional, including write and wipe dry
erase boards, graph paper, books, posters, manipulatives for math and
science and, of course, the model 201100
rubber stamp – the stamp that started it all.
